Tawang: Nagaland Tug of War Association (NTWA) has bagged silver medal in the national Tug of Championship.
The 36 Senior Men & Mixed and 18 Senior Federation Cup National Tug of War Championship 2023 was held at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Nagaland team participated for the first time in the National Tug of War Championship. And the Nagaland team lost to Kerala in the close-contested final fight.
Expressing immense happiness over the winning of Silver Medal, NTWA President E Vekho Swuro said, this big achievement was possible because of the coordinated effort of the pullers, officials, well-wishers and also because of the prayer and support of the people of Nagaland.
“Participating for the first time, we observed lack of techniques in many ways and need to train a lot in order to grab gold in the upcoming championship,” Swuro said.
Nagaland team comprises of 28 contingents 22 pullers (17 boys & 5 girls), 4 officials and 2 drivers.
