Itanagar: The fifth edition of the there -day Arunachal Literature Festival began on Thursday with Home minister Bamang Felix invited young people to participate and watch the literary discourses.
Addressing the inaugural session of the Literature Festival at DK Convention Hall here this evening, Felix reiterated government’s commitment to provide every support for the cause of literary progress and called upon the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society to draw out a pragmatic mechanism to upkeep the literary mission in the state.
He also invited young people to participate and watch the literary discourses during various sessions to sharpen and enhance their talent of writings.
Felix observed that ‘World is not complete without literature’ as it is passed down from generation to generations, and hence advocated for more such literary outcomes to carry forward to the coming generations.
Applauding the state’s literary pioneers and mentors – Padmashree and Sahitya Academy Awardee Y D Thongchi, Padmashree Mamang Dai and late Lummer Dai for their contributions towards achieving this momentum to the literary world in the state, thus providing a platform to the local writers/poets to have meaningful discussions to upgrade skills, the Home minister hoped for fruitful interactions during the two day sessions in various aspects.
Themed “Read, Reflect, Reimagine”, the 5th edition of the Arunachal Literature Festival, being organized by the Department of Information & Public Relations in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) is a calendar event aimed at promoting creative writings through interface between the local writers and established authors/writers, besides giving a forum to encourage the local emerging talents to enhance their skills in creative writing.
Many prominent authors, writers, poets, publishers, upcoming writers and literature lovers from across the state and outside are participating in the 3 day event.
Laisam Simai, Advisor to Minister IRP & Printing said that Arunachal Literature festival is the biggest platform ever given to young budding talents of the state to explore their potentials in writing and hone their skills in creative writing.
Stating that the government is providing ample opportunities to promote young potentials, he called upon budding writers to enhance their art of writings through interacting with the established writers and authors and translate their imagination into reality.
Delighted with the large turn-out and enthusiasm towards literary activities, which is high than the previous years, Simai attributed the progress to Padmashree Thongchi and Padmashree Dai for pioneering and guiding the literary movement in the state.
Welcoming each one of the authors and poets to the event for a successful brain storming sessions during the next two days, Simai urged upon them to keep inspiring the young generations of the state to go ahead in the field of literature.
Earlier in the day, an on-the spot Essay and Painting competition was conducted to mark the event, where all together 96 (ninety six) children from various schools of the capital complex participated. The winners would be awarded with prizes at the valedictory program.
The Day 2 & 3 will have many exciting session covering various aspects of literatures by eminent authors/writers, besides Poetry Workshop with Tenzin Tsundue, Prose Workshop with Pari Hilodari, Poetry Recitation, Short Story Reading etc.
