Imphal : At least two houses were set on fire and several rounds were also fired in Manipur’s Imphal district on Wednesday night in a fresh violence, police said on Thursday.
The incident took in New Keithelmanbi area under Patsoi police station around 10 pm
After the attack, the unidentified people fled the spot, triggering tension in the area.
Security forces and fire-fighters brought the flame under control, police said.
A mob of women who gathered in the area following the incident was thwarted by the security forces from proceeding further, police said.
Additional security has been deployed and the situation is under control, police said.
