Imphal : The National Investation Agency (NIA) has arrested another accused in connection with the Kwakta bomb blast in Manipur’s Bishnupur district on June 21, the agency said on Friday.
Mohammad Islauddin Khan was arrested on Thursday based on the ongoing investigation into the blast in which three people’s sustained injuries and caused damage to a bridge and nearby houses. The agency has arrested two persons in the case so far.
The NIA investigations revealed the involvement of Mohammad Islauddin Khan in the bomb blast in the IED laden Scorpio vehicle which was parked over a bridge located in the area of Phougakchou Ikhai Awang Leikai and Kwakta along Tiddim road in Bishnupur district.
After his arrest, Islauddin was produced before the jurisdictional court in Imphal whereupon the court remanded the accused to seven days of NIA custody.
The NIA along with Assam Police had arrested Mohammad Noor Hussain from Silchar in Assam’s Cachar district in connection with the case.
