Two bullet-riddled bodies recovered in Manipur

Imphal: Manipur police have recovered two bullet-riddled bodies of a man and women were recovered in Imphal East and West districts in Manipur, police said on Thursday.

The body of a woman with a bullet injury on her head was found between Tairenpokpi and Atom Khuman under Lamsang Police Station, Imphal West district.

The body of an unidentified man was found blindfolded with hands tied behind his back and bullet wounds on his head in Takhok Mapal Makha Puruksoubi Loukon Palli in Imphal East district late on Tuesday night, officer said.

The body of the unidentified woman has been kept at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) morgue, while the body has been deposited at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) morgue for identification and post mortem examination.

The deceased man and woman are believed to be two of the four missing persons, who were ‘abducted on Tuesday by unidentified men’ from Kangchup foothills in Imphal West district, police said.

An FIR case has been registered for further investigation into the incident.
