Shillong: Tura, the biggest town in Garo Hills of Meghalaya will host the upcoming Meghalaya Games likely to be held in January next year.
To prepare for the games, a review meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma in the state secretariat in the presence of Sports Minister, Shakliar Warjri, officers and representatives of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioners of various districts also joined the review meeting through online mode.
The Chief Minister informed that Tura which has not enough sports infrastructure, would have some challenges, but necessary arrangements would be made for the successful hosting of the sporting event.
Another review meeting will be held at Tura on December 8 where the Chief Minister and Sports Minister along with officers of various departments will be present.
