Aizawl: Bharatiya Janata Party national president, Jagat Prakash Nadda on Friday asserted that the “vision document” of his party was a well-researched document for the upcoming Mizoram Assembly elections.
“Political parties come out with their vision document, mission document and manifesto but we find them to be a mere piece of paper because even they are not very sure whether they are going to pursue that, vision or mission or commitment,” Nadda said at the launch of the Vision Document 2023 for Mizoram.
“But when the BJP goes for a vision document, it is a well-researched document. It is a document which always undertakes and undergoes the financial part of it. Our people have done detailed research on it, and then they have come out with this vision document,” the BJP president informed.
Stating that the political culture of the country has been changed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nadda said, “We (BJP) believe in report card politics. … Initially, people used to fight elections based on religion, caste, creed, area, and region. These were the factors, and they used to collect votes. And there was vote bank, which we called vote bank politics.”
“But since Prime Minister Modi has come, the definition of politics has changed. The definition of politics now involves performance, accountability, development, and inclusivity for every area, region, cast, and creed. There should not be any gender, caste or regional discrimination. And with that, we have worked and gone forward,” he said.
