Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio released the book “His Majesty’s Headhunters”, written by former BJP legislator Mmhonlumo Kikon at WWII Museum, Kisama on Saturday Congratulating Kikon on his book, Rio said the book about the British colonial Nagas written by a local author will give a different perception unlike the ones written by others and underlined the importance of documenting the Naga’s side of the story. The Chief Minister also shared his own British-Japanese stories passed on to him by his parents and relatives.
He said that the book “His Majesty’s Headhunters” will be a knowledge repository for the generations to come. Author, Mmhonlumo Kikon giving a background on the book stated that the book is about the people and stories from the Naga’s perspective. He also highlighted that it is on the period of the British occupation starting from 1832. He also shed a light on the impact on modern Nagaland due to the British colonisation and the Japanese invasion.
Advisor to CM and Chairman IDAN, Abu Metha chaired the programme.
