AGARTALA: Tripura government is all set to construct the third Tripura Bhawan in New Delhi to provide more accommodation for people visiting the national capital.
Sources in the Tripura CMO told The NE Journal that the government is all set for the construction of the third Tripura Bhawan in New Delhi.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha met Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena on September 15 and sought for land to set up the third Tripura Bhavan in the national capital to manage the daily rush of people.
The two Tripura Bhawans at Chanakyapuri cannot meet the demand of the people visiting New Delhi mainly for education, treatment, and business.
So, the state government has now decided to construct a new building in the Dwarka area of the capital.
The Tripura government is keen to build the new infrastructure at Dwarka because of availability of large patch of land, and secondly, the area is not far from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Officials at Tripura CMO are hopeful that the Delhi government may soon allocate a favourable land for construction of the new Tripura Bhawan.
The Tripura government is gearing up to start construction of the new Tripura Bhawan by January 2024. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha is committed to complete the project as early as possible.
The Tripura government is also in the process of building Tripura Bhawans in Mumbai and Chennai, mainly for patients seeking treatment.
Apart from Delhi, there are four Tripura Bhawans in Kolkata and one in Guwahati, which provide safe accommodation and pure food at affordable rates to the people of the state.
